Ecommerce Beauty French Fragrance Brands Statistics

A study by Brandiving analyzed the online presence of major French fragrance brands—Chanel, Dior, Guerlain, and Yves Saint Laurent—across the UK, Germany, France, Italy, and Spain. The research examined over 40,000 URLs from more than 200 retailers, comparing discounted prices with Suggested Retail Prices (SRP).
Results show that Chanel has the least exposure in lower-tier retailers, while Yves Saint Laurent is overrepresented. Chanel is also the least aggressive in discounts, whereas Guerlain and Yves Saint Laurent show higher promotional activity. The study highlights the importance of strategic online monitoring and pricing to maintain a premium brand position.
